In 1966 this three corporations where merged into a single one and on 24th September 1966 India Tourism Development Corporation came into begin. India Tourism Development Corporation comes under Department of Tourism. It is under the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation. The Corporation has its headquartes in New delhi
Objectives of Tourism Development Corporation
1. Construction of Management of hotels, Restaturants, Tourism bungalows, Beach Resorts at various places of our country.
2. Provision of transport facilities to tourists
3. Provision of Shopping facilities
4. Porvision of publicity materials tax cells India and also make Indians aware of National importance of tourism
5. Provision of entertainment facilities by way of organised cultural shows, light and sound shows etc.
Organization and Control
ITDC has a director board of which members are nominated by the President of India. The number of directors should not be lesser 2 and should not greater than 50. The powers are delicated from the board to the chariman and to the Managing Director who in turn deligate the powers to the team of functional directors. For the efficient and smooth functioning of the corporation. It is devided into 6 divisions. Each divisions are headed by general divisional managers who is responsible for the policy, planning and working pattern.

3. Publicity and marketing division
4. Commercial division
5. Finance and accounts division
6. Secretariat and administration division. The ITDC units are managed by the the Unit general Manager

ITDC conducts light and sound shows at redfort, new delhi, Suburmathi Asramam, Ahmedabad, Shalimar Garden, Srinagar, Theenmoorthi Bhavan, New Delhi, Taj Mahal Garden. Apart from the light and sound shows Exhibitions of arts and crafts, paintings are arranged at major Inidia Tourism Development Hotels. Mugal Evenings at Akbar Hotel, Delhi and evening at Asoka Delhi among its cultural programmes.
A monthly newspaper on India Tourism “ Know India” is published since 1987. ITDC also publishes postcards, posters, and film shows connected with attracted places are arranged for selected audience.
